A Taste of Bronze: Lost Wax Method

Course Fee: $450* + tax

We are excited to bring back this popular non-credit course! Experience the art of lost wax bronze casting using the modern casting facilities in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge. In this very hands-on course, take your ideas from wax to bronze and experience all stages in the casting process.

Students will bring and/or develop a small artwork in wax (to be cast in wax) and then will take these waxes all the way through the lost-wax casting process. They will finish with a patinated, cast bronze piece to take home.

No previous casting experience is required. Minimum age is 18 years old. Please note this is a non-credit course offering.

*Two pounds of bronze is included in the course fee; additional bronze is at a cost of $20 per pound.

Friday, November 14 | 6 - 9 pm
Friday, November 21 | 6 - 9 pm
Friday, November 28 | 6 - 9 pm
Saturday, November 29 | 9 am - 5 pm
Sunday, November 30 | 9 am - noon
Maximum course enrolment is 10 participants. This course is subject to cancellation if minimum enrolment is not met.
