Join us on March 27 at 7:30 pm for a University Singers concert entitled,Transformations: Voices of Resilience and Joy.
This concert features the University of Lethbridge Singers in a glorious variety of repertoire performed in unusual combinations of live recordings and virtually engineered performances. The heart of the concert includes the center-piece of Mozart’s Requiem, the powerful and passionate sections from the Sequenz, including the Dies Irae, Confutatis, Rex Tremendae and Lacrimosa as well as the delicate solo movements. These sections were recorded in small groups and large-scale performances were built by gifted digital audio arts students.
The concert also features solo works and ensemble works by many outstanding choir members, and includes a moving choral performance of ‘Like a River in my Soul’ thanks to the dedication of a talented choir member. One special feature of this concert is the inclusion of a movement piece, choreographed by yet another amazing student and filmed to a small group sung version of ‘Say Something’ that you won’t soon forget. The combination of effort, skill, and determination offered by these students who have committed themselves to singing despite all the difficulties of this time is simply outstanding.
