Abbondànza (Italian for abundance) is a unique project that partners a locally owned and operated restaurant with the University fine arts community, with each partner doing what they do best – Coco Pazzo provides a scrumptious, gourmet meal and a warm, inviting atmosphere; while the Faculty of Fine Arts provide an array of excellent entertainment and original artworks for the silent auction.

Each year Coco Pazzo devises a mouth-watering menu, which has often highlighted the cuisine of a particular region of Italy.  In addition to an exceptional meal, the evening includes music, singing, drama sketches, silent auction, and the awarding of the much coveted Abbondànza Culinary Trophy.

On Saturday January 31, 2015, the 14th annual Abbondànza takes place at CoCo Pazzo Italian Café at 6 pm.  A marvelous combination of gourmet food, superb entertainment, and fine arts.

Abbondànza Scholarships

In addition to having fun, the purpose of Abbondànza is to raise funds for Fine Arts student scholarships.  Since 2002, the Abbondànza Scholarship Endowment has awarded 78 scholarships, ranging from $500 to $3,000 each, to deserving senior students in Art, Drama, Music, New Media and Multidisciplinary programs.

In 2013, with the help of generous donors, we reached the first milestone - the $1-million mark! With this achievement, the Faculty of Fine Arts is now able to provide nine $3,000 undergraduate scholarships each year.

With continued support from the community, we are headed to the next million dollar milestone, which will enable us to add scholarships for Master of Fine Arts and Master of Music students, the newest additions to the University of Lethbridge Fine Arts offerings.
