FEED OR FAMINE- OCTOBER 11TH TO 14THFeed or Famine is a way for clubs and student groups to help out the ULSU Student Food Bank. I want to see clubs compete to see who can raise the most food bank donation items. YOUR CLUB CAN WIN MONEY FOR helping other students out.
Running a club isn't cheap and there are students on campus that rely on the ULSU Food Bank. Feed or Famine addresses both of these concerns!
Prizes:The club that raises the most amount of NON-EXPIRED non-perishable Food Bank Donation items will get:
$100 towards The Zoo and a $200 Club Grant.
Second Place will receive $50 towards The Zoo and a $150 Club Grant
Third Place will receive a $100 Club Grant.
During the upcoming week, if your club can coordinate a few members to go door to door in Lethbridge; you have the opportunity to win money for the club. I don't need to tell Club executives how helpful money is for for the operation of your club.
Last year, Kappa Beta Gamma killed it and brought in 248 non-perishable food items. Geography Club was second with 130 and Model United Nations brought in 53. However, we only had 7 student groups participate. I would love to see that number up from last year.
Rules:· Each participating clubs needs to check in with the VPSA and specify which neighborhood they would like to tackle. I've included a map in this email of the neighborhoods in Lethbridge.
· A really good way to get food donations is to pre-emptively let houses know that you are planning on swinging by for Food Donation Collection. I've attached aFeed or Famine Notice Form and we'll have forms in the Student's Union Office for pick up.· Come pick up a Driver Waiver from the ULSU Office or send an email to me so I can send you one. I don't want to pass thoseprinting costs onto your club, but if it's easier for you to print them out please let me know.· We're looking for non-perishable food donations that are not past their expiry date.
· Cash donations are welcome
Please bring all food donation items to the Students' Union Office between October 11th to the 14th during regular office hours 8:30am to 4:30pm. Feel free to hit up your family during this upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend for Food donation items but please wait until the contest officially starts to bring Food Donation Items in.
