Hosted by Julia Wasilewski (Drama)

Movie Mill, 7:30 p.m.
$5 students/youth | $8 adults

Marie Antoinette is less a traditional period film and more a dreamy, modern, and even just little bit punk, immersive visual world. The young Queen comes across not just as a historical figure, but as a relatable teenager trying to figure herself out, in a world full of indulgence and isolation. Winner of the 2006 Academy Award for Best Costume Design (Milena Canonero).

“Coppola’s oblique and anachronistic point of view shifts the balance away from realism and into an act of empathy for a girl swept up by events that leave her without personal choices.” - Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Rated PG for sexual content, alcohol usage, and mild coarse language
