Put your degree to work on a real City project.

What can your discipline contribute to a community problem?

In CIRP 3989: Community & Change, you'll join an interdisciplinary student team and work directly with the City of Lethbridge on a real municipal opportunity.

You'll:

• investigate a current community issue using research, data and community perspectives;
• meet and learn from City staff, community members and other professionals;
• bring the knowledge and skills from your own degree into an interdisciplinary team;
• develop professional skills in research, interviewing, teamwork, communication and project development;
• create an evidence-informed recommendation or project for the City;
• present your work to the City and at the City Scholars Symposium; and
• complete work-integrated learning experience that can help you articulate your skills to future employers.

Bring the perspective of your degree. CIRP 3989 is intentionally interdisciplinary, bringing together students from across the University to investigate community opportunities from different perspectives. Your academic knowledge, experiences and skills become part of what your team brings to the City.
