Westerners Look at the Trees While Easterners Look at the Forest

Evening Lecture with Dr. Ken Ito at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden Bunka Centre, Large Room

Date: Friday, Feb. 27

Time: 6 p.m.

About the Presentation:
Dr. Ito’s research examines cultural differences in thinking styles — specifically, holistic thinking commonly found in East Asian cultures such as Japan, Korea and China, and analytic thinking more common in Western cultures, including Canada, the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom. This presentation offers insight into how these differences influence perceptions, emotions and behaviours across cultures.
