About the speaker

Adam Whitford resides in Sikoohkotoki (Lethbridge) where he is the Curator and Exhibitions Manager for the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin. There, he develops an exhibition program that simultaneously supports artists across Treaty 7 territory while bringing national and international artists in dialogue with local issues. He has organized exhibitions with artists such as: Tania Willard, Sung Tieu, gabi dao, and Marigold Santos.

Adam holds a BFA in Art & Design and an MA in the History of Art, Design, and Visual Culture from the University of Alberta. His writing has been published by Canadian Art, Public Parking, Galleries West, the Art Gallery of Burlington, and the Woodstock Art Gallery.
