The Plot Thickens with the University of Lethbridge Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Holly De Caigny, as they take the stage on Wednesday, Mar 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre.
Comprising approximately 65 talented students, the ULethbridge Wind Orchestra is an auditioned ensemble that boasts a diverse mix of music majors and students from various disciplines. With a passion for musical excellence, the orchestra, under the guidance of Dr. Holly De Caigny, has become a dynamic force on campus and beyond.
The orchestra's active performance schedule includes four on-campus concerts and notable appearances at the Fall and Spring Convocations. Additionally, their annual tour showcases their commitment to bringing exceptional wind music to diverse audiences.
The program consists of music inspired by captivating stories, tales, and legends, including Eric Whitacre's Godzilla Eats Las Vegas and The Hobbits by Johan de Meij! This diverse selection not only highlights the ensemble's versatility but also provides a platform for the students, many of whom are aspiring music educators, to master the performance of quality compositions critical to their success.
