Fajardo Chaves: the musician and his music

In this unforgettable Music at Noon performance, pianist Diego Palacios Dávila invites you on a musical journey showcasing the compelling compositions of Javier Fajardo Chaves, Colombian composer from the Nariño region.
Pianist Diego Palacios Dávila holds a Doctor in Humanities Cum Laude from Eafit University (Colombia). He has given recitals in different venues in the city of Pasto, Medellín, Bogotá, and Zipaquirá; in the United States, Mexico and Canada. In 2019 and 2021 he published his books Torta de Chocolate con Café - Compositions for piano and chamber and, Spianato - piano music in different formats, respectively, two collections of compositions in different genres such as soloist, chamber, symphonic, among others. Likewise, in 2023 he published his book Preludio, a pedagogical support document for the study of diatonic piano scales.
As a researcher and speaker he has participated in national and international events at University of Nariño, University of Caldas, University of Antioquia, Eafit University, los Andes University, House of the Americas (Cuba), and University of Lethbridge (Canada). Since 2015 he became a full-time professor for the Faculty of Arts at the University of Nariño.
