Kristina Lee Podesva is the daughter of Ernest and Yun. She regrets that she cannot speak either of the languages of her grandmothers. Working between visual art and writing, sometimes she straddles the two. Before the pandemic, she hugged friends in person and hosted experimental literary and artistic projects, events, and retreats at B R U N A press + archive on the home territory of the Lummi people (also known as Bellingham, Washington). In a previous life, she edited the art journal Fillip (2005-2015) and exhibited her work internationally at venues such as Artspeak, Darling Foundry, Dorsky Gallery, Power Plant, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, among others. Before an extended period of illness, she taught and learned with others at the California College of the Arts, Emily Carr University, and the Malmö Art Academy. She is currently feeling better and works as an adjunct instructor at the Art and Art History department at Western Washington University.
