Art NOW presents Jen Aitken
12 pm MT | February 4, 2022
uLethbridge Online Presentation
Free admission, everyone welcome

Jen Aitken makes sculptures and drawings that combine perceptual ambiguity with structural clarity. Responding to her immediate urban environment, she arranges geometric volumes, planes, and negative spaces into forms that both tempt and resist recognition.

Aitken is based in Toronto, holds an MFA from the University of Guelph, Ontario, and a BFA from Emily Carr University, Vancouver. She received a Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts Award in 2021, and the Hnatyshyn Foundation and TD Bank Emerging Visual Artist Award in 2017. Recent exhibitions include Arsenal Contemporary Art Toronto; the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal; and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC. Aitken has upcoming solo exhibitions at The Power Plant and Nicholas Metivier Gallery in Toronto.

Jen Aitken is also facilitating studio visits with uLethbridge art students. Learn more about studio visits here.
