Nick Wade taught in the art Department at The U of L from 1994 to 2011.
He will speak about the variety of influences, which are behind his first ever exhibition of paintings . In sculpture, prints, drawings and photographs from the late 70’s to the present , he has examined the formal, linguistic and optical relationships between small structures such as boxes and typographical forms, and their architectural counterparts. He has also had a prolonged interest in the fall of light in nature and in architectural structures, and has attempted to evoke through numerous sculptures , the patterns, material interplay and fluidity of both shadow and its lesser state, light.
Nick Wade has an exhibition of his recent worked entitled Where is Near at the Trianon Gallery (104-5th St. S.) from Sept. 27 to Nov. 15.
