“Using Critical Eyes to Indigenize: Integrating Indigenous Knowledge into Education”
Indigenization is the process of braiding Indigenous knowledge systems and perspective into the structures within an institution. The objective of the symposium is to recognize and highlight the importance of and ways to create learning environments that reflect Indigenous ways of knowing and being. Our speakers will examine emerging trends of integrating Indigenous knowledge into education which move from Indigenous inclusion to reconciliation with the goal of decolonizing systems to create inclusive culturally safe learning environments.
