Darryl Moore (BMgt ’02) and his roots with the Pronghorns men’s soccer program date back three decades. First as a player, then coach, now alumni leader and community booster.
Whether it’s spearheading team fundraising efforts, providing student-athlete employment opportunities or keeping former athletes and supporters engaged with the program, Moore has proven himself a most-valuable player, albeit off the field, for strengthening the Pronghorn community. These efforts, among others earning him the honour of 2026 Pronghorn Alumni of the Year.
“Darryl has given so much of himself to the Pronghorn community over many years—as a student-athlete, coach, mentor, alumnus and supporter,” says Neil Langevin (BA ’91, BEd ’91, MEd ’10), executive director of Pronghorn Athletics and Recreation. “His genuine care for people, commitment to helping student-athletes succeed and leadership in keeping generations of men’s soccer alumni connected have made a lasting difference. We are proud to recognize Darryl Moore as our 2026 Pronghorn alumnus of the year.”
Moore will be recognized for his contributions at the 2026 Alumni Achievement Awards Celebration on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the Science Commons Atrium. Tickets are currently available online.
Darryl Moore
Darryl Moore is someone who quietly makes the Pronghorn community stronger.
A member of the Pronghorns men’s soccer program from 1996 to 2000 and part of the 2000 Canada West bronze-medal team, Moore has spent decades giving back to the program and the people who call it home, serving as a coach, mentor, alumni leader and community builder.
For more than 12 years, Moore served as an assistant coach with men’s soccer, helping shape generations of young athletes while sharing lessons that extended far beyond the soccer field. His approach was rooted in teamwork and growth, and most importantly, in making sure the people around him felt supported.
He continued that commitment through the Pronghorns Men’s Soccer Alumni Society, where he has played a major role in keeping alumni connected to the program. Through the annual alumni golf tournament and other initiatives, Moore has helped create opportunities for former players and supporters to stay engaged with the team and with one another. The society has also played an important role in connecting alumni with the program and supporting the team’s fundraising efforts, helping ensure the Pronghorns have the resources and support they need.
Through his business, FloorRight Interiors, Moore also finds ways to support athletes outside of soccer. He has provided employment opportunities for student-athletes, giving many the chance to stay in Lethbridge while balancing school, training and competition. His company has also been involved in University of Lethbridge capital projects since the early 2000s, further strengthening his connection to the University and the community.
Moore was also instrumental in bringing Karps’ Korner to life at the Community Stadium in memory of his late teammate and friend, Marcus Karpati. The project brought together former teammates, alumni, friends and community members to create a space that honours Karpati and gives his family, friends and the Pronghorns community a place to remember him.
Moore’s impact is not about one moment or one accomplishment, rather it is the result of years of showing up, giving his time, opening doors for others and finding ways to help. He continues to invest in the Pronghorns community long after his playing days have ended, and in doing so, has helped make the program stronger for those who come next.
