Boil Water Order lifted

University of Lethbridge President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mike Mahon, issued a statement early Friday afternoon in regards to the lifting of the Boil Water Order in Lethbridge and area. It reads as follows:

At noon today, the City of Lethbridge ended its local state of emergency and lifted its Boil Water Order. The City has also announced that due to drastically reduced consumption by the Lethbridge community, contamination of the City’s water system was averted. Therefore, there is no need to flush water systems on campus or in your home. Students, faculty and staff may resume regular consumption of water on campus.

The City of Lethbridge’s message regarding its decision to lift the Boil Water Advisory can be found here.

I would like to thank students, faculty and staff for their efforts in reducing water consumption during the Boil Water Order. Additionally I would like to thank those responsible for implementing additional precautions to ensure the safety of our campus community.

Sincerely,

President & Vice-Chancellor
Dr. Mike Mahon
