PROJECT SANDBOX: So you want to create a research poster: How to upgrade your design with Adobe Photoshop | November 19

Library's Fall Term Break Hours: November 10 to 15

During the Fall Term Break, the Library's hours of operation are as follows:

  • Sunday (10): 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Monday (11): CLOSED [Remembrance Day]
  • Tuesday to Friday (12 to 15): 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

EndNote Combined Workshop: November 12

EndNote is citation management software which can help you manage, organize and use your research literature. It integrates with Microsoft Word (and selected other word processing software) so that you can "cite-while-you-write" using your choice of citation styles. EndNote is available for both Windows and Mac computers. We will be using the latest version in the Windows/PC environment with Microsoft Word.

Anyone wishing to use EndNote on their own laptop during training sessions should have the software already installed.

Open Access Publishers: Reputable? Questionable? How can you tell?

Do you want your published scholarly articles to be freely (and lawfully) available online to any interested reader? If you do, you are a supporter of Open Access (OA). But are you having trouble distinguishing reputable OA publishers from those who use seemingly deceptive business practices? Are you interested in knowing what kinds of OA publishing practices are considered to be “predatory” and how to tell questionable and reputable publishers apart? Library Headcounts: October 20 to 26

From Sunday, October 20 to Saturday, October 26 student assistants (you may see them with clipboards) will be performing headcounts in the Library. The counts are to determine how many people are in the Library spaces and computer resources in use during the designated count times. No other information is being collected.
