A week ago, the world cast its eyes on the nations of Turkey and Syria after they were hit by a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The ensuing days have brought countless stories of heartache and tragedy as the nations face the grief of having lost so many lives, while struggling to meet the urgent needs of those who survived.
The University of Lethbridge is home to many international students, faculty and staff, some of whom are from the affected countries. We are all global citizens — and our hearts go out to those affected by this horrible disaster and share in the pain they feel for their loved ones.
If you are having difficulty coping with this situation and need assistance, please seek help through Counselling Services (students) or access the Employee and Family Assistance Program (faculty and staff). If you are looking to donate to disaster recovery operations, the Government of Canada is matching all donations to the Canadian Red Cross.
