The University of Lethbridge has been allocated four Research Tools and Instruments (RTIs) in their 2015-2016 quota. The UofL is looking for interested applicants to respond to an open call for applications.
The RTI Grants Program provides the primary avenue for university researchers in the natural sciences and engineering to obtain up to $150,000 in support for research tools and instruments with a net cost between $7,001 and $250,000.
Universities are provided with a quota for the number of RTI applications that they can submit to NSERC. This quota is based on the number of NSERC-funded researchers at the university. The university decides which applications to submit to NSERC. NSERC encourages universities to inform their faculties of their internal selection process.
The U of L is looking for RTI applications that can leverage the grant in a significant way from applicants/joint applicants, who have a strong research record and are current NSERC holders. Please provide a two or three page description outlining the strategic importance of the request and how it will best serve your department’s research needs and those of other departments who might benefit from such equipment. A budget must also be provided. This preliminary application can be sent to Dean Craig Cooper at craig.cooper@uleth.ca (and copied to Dr. Matthew Letts, Interim Associate Vice President Research, at matthew.letts@uleth.ca) by Friday July 31, 2015. All submissions will be reviewed after that date.
The NSERC RTI submission deadline is October 25, 2015. If you have any questions about the NSERC RTI application process, please contact Penny D'Agnone at penny.dagnone@uleth.ca.
