A notice from Irene Mikawoz (Manager, Prairies Regional Office) from NSERC was recieved by the University of Lethbridge community.
NOTICE:
A Prairie-based company is opening its datasets to researchers in the field of data visualization. The company has a massive amount of human-resources and natural language data upon which to apply visualization principles. This is an opportunity to work with dynamic, real-world industrial data. The selected partner must meet the eligibility requirements for an NSERC Engage grant.
The human resources industry generates and accumulates data that is personal, intrinsically social, and semantically rich. Visualization techniques applied against the graphs that emerge from this data would allow us to verify and improve upon existing candidate-position matching techniques. The company is interested in talking to researchers with an interest and expertise in this area.
