Introduction to Indigenous Literature - INDG2605 / ENGL2605
Indigenous literatures are understood broadly as arising from preexisting Oral Traditions and include a wide range of written, oral, and visual formats. This course will introduce students to the field of Indigenous literary studies. Students will engage with and analyze Indigenous literatures through both personal responses and critical methods drawn from Indigenous Studies and English Studies. Course materials include shorter works and four contemporary Indigenous horror works from across Turtle Island. Instructional methods will include lectures, discussion and experiential learning.
Prerequisite: Either INDG1000 or INDG1010
