Canadian Cancer Society - Research Grants

The Canadian Cancer Society is pleased to announce that the online application forms are now available for the upcoming Innovation Grants, Innovation to Impact Grants, Quality of Life Research Grants LOI and Travel Awards competitions. Innovation Grants:
These grants have been created to support unconventional concepts, approaches or methodologies to address problems in cancer research. Budgets awarded may be up to $100,000 per year and a maximum of $200,000 per grant.
Abstract registration deadline: August 17 (as August 15 is a Saturday)
Full application deadline: October 1 (Note that abstract registrations must be submitted in order to submit full application)

Innovation to Impact Grants:

These grants are intended to support the further development of successful findings based on the goals originally explored through a CCSRI Innovation Grant. Therefore, only investigators with a funded CCSRI Innovation Grant are eligible for this program. Applications can be made within 2 years (Note: change from 1 year) of the end date of the original Innovation Grant and a maximum of one re-application will be permitted. Budgets awarded may be up to $150,000 per year over a maximum term of three years.

Quality of Life Research Grants:
These grants have been created to support quality of life cancer research that has the potential to make a significant impact on the burden of disease in patients, survivors and caregivers. These grants are intended to explore psychosocial, survivorship, symptom control, supportive care and end-of-life issues, research gaps, needs and opportunities, or models for survivorship care. The grants are meant to accelerate and focus the knowledge gained from scientific findings, in the short or long term, into outcomes that will result in the reduced burden or enhanced quality of life for cancer patients in Canada and elsewhere. Budgets awarded will not exceed $300,000 over 2 or 3 years.
LOI deadline: June 29
Full application deadline: November 1 (Note that only successful LOI applicants will be invited to submit full proposals)Travel Awards:

This program is offered to PhD or MD/PhD students, and post-doctoral/medical/clinical fellows to defray costs of travel, registration, accommodation, meals, ground transportation, etc. associated with making a scientific presentation as a first author or presenter at a conference, symposium or other appropriate professional meeting. The travel award will not exceed $2,000.

Grant submissions
All applications must be submitted through the online application system (EGrAMS) by 5p.m. EST on the deadline date. Submissions will not be accepted beyond these times.
