The School of Liberal Education will be presenting their third annual Social Justice Symposium on Friday, September 20, from noon to 4:30 p.m. in the Student Union Ballrooms.
Keynote Speaker: Jackson Leween 2Bears (Art Department, Fine Arts)
Proposals are welcome for both short talks and table-discussion topics and hosts. Short abstracts, proposals and descriptions should be sent to wismaths@uleth.ca before May 31.
The symposium begins with five short talks of 10 minutes each. The aim is to introduce a topic and set the stage for further conversation. We hope to have speakers on a wide range of topics across all disciplines of the University.
Following the short talks, there will be two or three sessions of discussion tables focused on different themes. The format will be a 20-minute discussion and then a break to change tables and topics for further discussion. Proposals should be for a host for a table, along with a theme that will foster small-group discussion.
