Assistant Music Director

5 Hours Weekly - $50 monthly stipend

Job Description

You will be primarily assisting the Music Director with upkeep and organization of new music, and the station’s music library. This will include:

• Opening mail and entering new submissions into the database,
• Listening to music in order to write reviews and organize playlist updates,
• Compiling and reporting charts,
• Converting CD releases to sleeves and organizing them into the library,
• Putting other submissions and older releases through the necessary steps to enter our library,
• Ripping and organizing music files for the digital library,
• Reporting regularly to the Music Director to communicate progress, changes made, and for additional support.

If necessary, you may be trained to and/or occasionally tasked with:

• Organizing local music mailouts,
• Making ckxu.com website updates,
• Assisting in audio support for broadcast events at CKXU,
• Mixing and finalizing audio recordings,
• Communicating with existing programmers and helping to train new volunteers.

Requirements

Eligible applicants will:

• Possess a strong passion for music,
• Possess very strong organization skills,
• Possess a working knowledge of a wide-variety of music and an openness to every genre,
• Possess good interpersonal skills,
• Possess computer literacy skills,
• Be self-motivated and able to work independently,
• Be available at CKXU 88.3FM on a regular weekly basis.

Remuneration

• This position pays a stipend of $50 / month
