The University of Lethbridge Library, in partnership with the Centre for Oral History and Tradition and the University Art Gallery, proudly announce the launch of the Nicolas de Grandmaison Oral History Project.
The resources found in this collection come from the expansive Nicholas de Grandmaison (1892–1978) archival collection that the artist’s children gifted to the University of Lethbridge in 1988. This oral history project contains interviews between de Grandmaison and the subjects of his indigenous peoples portraits, as well as interviews with de Grandmaison himself and his family.
The Nicholas de Grandmaison digitized collection is also available — the bulk of the collection consists of de Grandmaison’s paintings and drawings of First Nations peoples.
