Can I study remotely?

This is a stressful time. How can I get assistance?
There are several counselling resources in Anderson Hall that are available to students. Therapy Assist Online is also available to all students, as is 7 Cups of Tea.
If you are ill, please stay home and contact Healthlink 811 for advice.
Who do I contact if I think I have COVID-19?
Call 811. Please do not go to the Health Centre on campus, physicians’ offices, or emergency.
If you are in immediate distress, call 911.
Will campus events be cancelled?
As we continue to monitor the situation with public health officials, we are looking at scenarios for classes and events. This is a global issue with rapidly evolving responses. Some events have already been cancelled. Please contact the event organizer directly.
Are in-person classes cancelled or suspended?
uLethbridge continues to offer in-person classes for the time being. Contingency plans are being developed to offer classes online if necessary. Your instructor will notify you if alternate arrangements or cancellations are made for your course.
Do I need a doctor’s note to self-isolate or self-quarantine?
No, you don’t need a doctor’s note. Please just report your absence through our self-reporting form and your instructor will contact you with arrangements related to your course or exams.
I am concerned about my off-campus placement/practicum.
Please contact your usual Faculty co-op placement/practicum coordinator directly for information about your placement.
What can I do to limit my risk for COVID-19 or other similar illnesses?
Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water; use alcohol-based hand sanitizers; avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth; Practice social distancing (e.g. no handshaking); when coughing cover your mouth and nose with tissue and throw the tissue into the trash immediately; cough or sneeze into your elbow instead of your hand.
How are the cleaning processes changing in response to COVID-19?
Monday through Friday, the caretaking staff disinfect all classroom desks and presentation areas. As well, all common area door handles, light switches, phones and washroom fixtures are disinfected daily. ulethbridge.ca/facilities/caretaking/content/cleaning-health
I am concerned about my upcoming thesis defense or comprehensive exam(s).
Contact your supervisor to make plans to have your defense or exam(s) take place via videoconferencing, if possible. The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) can offer suggestions for software/apps to help support this.

I live in campus housing. Can I self-isolate in Residence?

I am concerned that one of my classmates or friends has COVID-19 symptoms. What do I do?

I’ve been diagnosed with COVID-19. Now what?
Complete this self-reporting form.
Stay home and self-isolate (please don’t come to classes or exams). Follow the instructions of your medical practitioner to get well. Special arrangements about any missed assessments including final exams will be determined and communicated to you by your instructors.

Is my Calgary Campus event still on?
Effective March 12, 2020, all events to be held on campus will be postponed or cancelled. Please contact the organizer for further information.
Are my Calgary Campus classes cancelled?
Not at this time; in-person classes will continue as scheduled. The University of Lethbridge is working closely with Bow Valley College and is assessing all continuity options. We will provide an update as soon as one is available.
