EndNote users: Please be aware that the working copy of your library must be located on an internal hard drive of the computer that runs your EndNote desktop application to avoid eventual corruption. In other words, you should never have your working EndNote library in a cloud service like Dropbox or OneDrive or on a networked server, flash drive or external hard drive, as doing so will eventually corrupt your library (although they can be used to store backup copies of your library). For more information, see this FAQ. If you would like help in moving your working library to a safe environment, please email endnote.library@uleth.ca.
EndNote Mac user? If you're running EndNote X8 or earlier, please install X9 as soon as possible and install all X9 updates as they become available. Why? Apple's new MacOS Catalina due to be released this fall creates compatibility issues with EndNote, which will be addressed via updates for X9 only. For more information see this Clarivate Analytics article.
Not yet an EndNote user? If you will be writing a lot of research papers or a thesis in the near future and could use some help with source citation and organizing your research articles, citation management tools like EndNote can help. The University's EndNote site license allows all current uLethbridge students, faculty, and staff to download and install it for free.
Sign up for a Library workshop to learn how to use EndNote effectively. In Fall 2019, one-hour Basics and Advanced workshops are offered in September, and a two-hour combined workshop (Basics + Advanced) is offered in October and November. If you are unable to attend the on-campus workshops, email endnote.library@uleth.ca to arrange an online workshop (via Zoom, WebEx, or Skype) at a time that works for you.
