Art NOW Series presents Bekk Wells
Noon, September 16, 2019
University Recital Hall
Free admission, everyone welcome!
The world is made of matter and energy, but our worlds are made of perceptions and concepts. The creation of images and objects is an effective tactic for making sense of experience and observation. Bekk Wells will discuss his recent work in terms of spatial metaphors, phenomenology, and materials.
Bekk Wells was born in Northern Alberta and has lived in various locations throughout the province. He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Lethbridge, where he also studied art, and a Master of Arts in Art and Science from Central Saint Martins in London, England. He has exhibited his work at CERN, the Royal Society and the Tate Exchange, and in 2018 curated an independent exhibition in a South London warehouse. He is interested in the role of art in forging connections between the tangible and the abstract.
Art NOW wishes to thank the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery for their collaboration in making Bekk's visit and presentation possible.
