The University Library has recently acquired some great new resources for Historians and others interested in historical documents.
Gale Primary Sources contains extensive digital archives dating from the 16th century, most of which are searchable in one interface. The 29 databases in this collection include monographs, manuscripts, government documents, newspapers, maps, and photographs in a multidisciplinary collection from around the world. A virtual treasure trove of primary sources.
Frontier Life brings together documents from sixteen archives and libraries around the world. Letters, diaries, government papers, books, artwork, photographs, business papers and maps are among the types of source material to be found within the collection, dating from 1650. The geographical spread of these documents allows users to focus on a particular region, such as Canada, while viewing it within a wider global, comparative context.
The Library has also recently received a large donation from the Lampard family, which contains priceless rare books.
Join Romany Craig as she shows some highlights of each of these collections, and demonstrates how to find materials within them. You won’t want to miss it if your research includes historical or primary source material.
