Dr. Mary Louise Adams (Queen's University, Kingston ON Canada) is the inaugural visiting scholar in the Dr. Hart Cantelon Lecture Series, hosted by the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education.   Dr. Adams' lecture, entitled ' Counting our steps in the 'health society': Risk, instrumental bodies, and the shrinking of our worlds' will take place Friday February 3rd at 3:15 pm in PE261, and is open to the university and Lethbridge community.  Dr. Adams research program looks at the changing conventions for 'appropriate' movement patterns, with specific interest in what current and historical concepts of 'appropriate' tell us about gender, sexuality, sport, health, and society, and the public lecture will examine new health behaviours and technologies through that social lense.  The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education is very proud to host Drs. Adams and Cantelon for this first annual Dr. Hart Cantelon Lecture, and we welcome interested members of the university and local communities to join us.
