It’s a play … a musical theatre spectacle! And, oh yes … there’s The Simpsons! Packed with pop culture, punchlines, and pure chaos!
Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric musical play, by Anne Washburn is a darkly comic, thought-provoking theatrical experience about survival, storytelling, and cultural memory after collapse. Blending satire and music, it reimagines The Simpsons as post-apocalyptic myth, exploring how art rebuilds community, meaning, and resilience in a fractured world that may reflect our own today.
Washburn’s storytelling also serves as a warning to us and the future generations about what life might look like during and after an apocalypse. It urges us to question whether we are truly prepared for such a future, and whether we should already be preparing for it.
Sensitivity warning: Possible use of stroke lights, sirens, prop weapons
