The University of Lethbridge is saddened to have learned of the death of Dhillon School of Business student Praise Osose Ibojie, who passed away July 7, 2026, and expresses its deepest condolences to his family, friends and fellow classmates.
Ibojie, 24, first began his studies at ULethbridge in the Fall 2019 semester studying digital audio arts in the Faculty of Fine Arts. He changed his major to marketing in Spring 2023 and was also a member of the Pronghorns men’s track team for the 2022-23 Canada West season.
A Pronghorn track coach remembered Ibojie as a valuable member of the group and consummate teammate.
“His music ability, his compassion, putting his friends first above himself,” the coach said, remembering Ibojie. “He was protective of his loved ones and those he cared for, and someone you could go to, to talk about anything with no judgement."
Ibojie was honored with a funeral service on July 14, 2026, in his hometown of Calgary. For more information and to leave condolences, visit his memorial page at Choice Memorial.
ULethbridge students who may be struggling with the news of his passing, are urged to connect with Counselling Services at counselling.services@uleth.ca. Faculty and staff struggling with the news may contact EAP at GreenShield Health for support.
The University will lower its flag in remembrance of Ibojie on Monday, July 20, 2026.
