The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs (SACPA) presents a session with labour leader Gil McGowan as he discusses the Workers' Agenda.

What Is the Workers’ Agenda — and Why Does It Matter for Alberta?

Developed by labour organizations and community partners, the Workers’ Agenda is a policy platform that focuses on building an economy that works for everyone. It highlights priorities such as good jobs, fair wages, affordable housing, strong public services, workplace safety and democratic accountability. In this presentation, the speaker will outline the key ideas behind the Workers’ Agenda and discuss how these proposals aim to address the economic challenges facing working people in Alberta today.

Speaker: Gil McGowan

Gil is president of the Alberta Federation of Labour, representing more than 170,000 workers across Alberta. First elected in 2005, he is a prominent voice on labour rights, wages and economic policy affecting working people in the province.

Date/Time: Thursday, March 19, 2026. The presentation begins at noon & concludes at 1 p.m.

Free to attend. Donations however, are gratefully accepted.

Location: SACPA sessions are held at Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization (LSCO), Atrium Dining Room, 500 - 11 Street South, Lethbridge
