Abundant Memory, Relational Intelligence
An Indigenous-led exploration into Artificial Intelligence
Visit with the Artists
Hess Gallery, Thursdays, Noon - 3 p.m.
November 6: BFA New Media and BMgt student Darby Herman will walk through her concept for VR application to support various learning styles in relation to Blackfoot language learning. Stepping into memories of Blackfoot language in familial contexts, Darby is interested in how AI can add learning supports in an immersive environment.
November 20: Join graduate student Blair Many Fingers in making a Tipi craft while participants listen to stories that relate to the Niitóyis Research Paradigm Framework, on display in the Hess Gallery. Materials will be provided while supplies last. From Michelle Sylvestre, "AIPI, Clues, and Curious Minds." Inspired by the classic game show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, this interactive activity invites visitors to test their knowledge of artificial intelligence and follow clues that reveal how AI is shaped by culture, history and power. Explore surprising connections, challenge assumptions and see how technology reflects the world we live in. No experience required; just bring your curiosity.
November 27: Join graduate student Blair Many Fingers in making a Tipi craft while participants listen to stories that relate to the Niitóyis Research Paradigm Framework, on display in the Hess Gallery. Materials will be provided while supplies last.
A collaboration with the Niitsitapi Pod of the Abundant Intelligences research program.
