The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs (SACPA) presents a session discussing the opioid crisis in southern Alberta and the policies of the Moms Stop the Harm advocacy group.
Moms Stop the Harm and Failed Drug Policies
While opioid addictions and overdoses are a crisis throughout the province and across the country, the statistics of those affected in southern Alberta are staggering. The speaker will provide context to this issue and put a face to these statistics. The presentation will address policies developed to stem the tide of addiction and drug poisonings. Policies purported to assist individuals to treatment and support will be reviewed. The advocacy of the Moms Stop the Harm group and the policies and solutions the group would like to see implemented will also be discussed.
