Please join the Office of Research and Innovation Services (ORIS) for our in-person research orientation for new faculty on Thursday, August 31, from noon – 4:30 p.m. in L1168. The orientation will provide information regarding the processes for holding research funds at the University, as well as research-related topics such as ethics and working with graduate students. While this session is designed to support new faculty members, it is open to anyone who would like to attend.

• 11:45 - 12:30 p.m. = Lunch
• 12:30 - 12:40 p.m. = Welcome and Introductions
• 12:40 - 1 p.m. = Finding Funding/Proposal Development
• 1 - 1:30 p.m. = Compliance Requirements
• 1:30 - 1:45 p.m. = Post-award Administration
• 1:45 - 2 p.m. = Coffee break
• 2 - 2:50 p.m. = Using Your Funds
• 2:50 - 3:15 p.m. = Research Data Management, IRs, and Technology Support
• 3:15 - 3:30 p.m. = Coffee break
• 3:30 - 3:55 p.m. = Specific Information to Research Area
• 3:55 – 4:15 p.m. = Tri-Council Funding
• 4:15 - 4:30 p.m. = Wrap-up, concluding remarks, etc.
