Drama 3850 - Sharing stories

Summer Session One - Monday, May 8 to Friday, May 26
11:00am - 2:50pm (Monday through Friday)

LOCATION: University Centre for the Arts, Level 4, room W422 (May 8 - 16); W480 (May 17 - 26)

Making Treaty Seven Cultural Society (MT7)  is an Indigenous-led, settler-supported theatre company. 

Participants in this course will work collaboratively with members of MT7 to generate content that will be used in a new theatre production, which will be staged by the Drama department in Fall 2023. 

This course is open to all students, staff and community members. No previous theatre experience is required, as this offering is intended to be an artist residency.

There is a non-credit option for those who are interested in participating and are not a current student. Community members are encouraged to register for this course at no cost. Contact Dr. Shelley Scott at s.scott@uleth.ca for more information.

Please be aware that there are three optional field trips:

  1. Friday May 12 to Fort Whoop-Up located in Indian Battle Park (participants are to meet at Fort Whoop-Up, no transportation provided)
  2. Wednesday May 17 to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump (transportation is provided to and from the venue, but participants are able to take their own transportation as desired)
  3. Wednesday May 24 to Writing on Stone National Heritage Park (transportation is provided to and from the park, but participants are able to take their own transportation as desired)

Everyone is welcome and no previous theatre experience is required. Participants under age 18 must provide a parental/guardian consent form: MINOR CONSENT WAIVER

All participants must sign the CONSENT WAIVER, the OFF SITE WAIVER, and hazard assessment forms in order to complete their registration. Participation is not final until all forms are filled out. Please click on the links to ensure you have signed both documents (processed through DocuSign).
