The World as It Is: Canada's Foreign Policy in an Era of Radical Uncertainty

David Morrison, Canada’s Senior Diplomatic and International Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister, is visiting the University of Lethbridge on Thursday, March 12, as part of the Poli(cy) Pipeline Series by the Department of Political Science.

Morrison will give two talks — a daytime talk to students about the job of the diplomat, and an evening talk for the public on Canada’s foreign policy in a turbulent world.

And there’s plenty to talk about with ground wars in Europe, the Middle East and elsewhere, threats of nuclear conflict, increasing protectionism, democratic backsliding and the shutting of shipping lanes. All of these factors shape Canada’s foreign policy, and Morrison will outline the challenges for Canada and the steps needed to navigate these turbulent waters.
