FINAL PERFORMANCE 7:00PM | University Recital Hall - Everyone welcome!

The Department of Music hosts another incredible Brass Day for high school, university, and community brass players to participate, rehearse, and perform, while being surrounded by other brass musicians from all over the region.

 

The day features several sessions, with topics including:

- Instrument specific exercises and rehearsals led by the U of L Brass Faculty

- Session: Mental Practice Concepts and Behaviours for Success with Peter Visentin

- Gentle Yoga stretches and breathing for posture and relaxation

- Trade Fair, featuring brass instruments and equipment from a variety of manufacturers (hosted by Long & McQuade)

 

In addition, the U of L will be hosting Peder MacLellan, principal tuba with the Vancouver Symphony and professor of low brass at UBC.  He will present a masterclass for all brass players and will also be featured on the final session of the day, an evening performance involving all of our participants!

Remember to bring your instrument!

Remember to bring lunch & dinner (U of L Food Services is open to purchase meals)

Remember to wear a comfortable change of clothing for yoga!
