The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs (SACPA) presents a session discussing the development of the South Campus area of the University of Lethbridge.
South Campus: How can we Plan for Tomorrow, Together?
Communities everywhere are grappling with how best to grow, how to balance opportunity with responsibility, and how to create spaces that support people, businesses and future generations. The South Campus project sits at the heart of that conversation in Lethbridge.
Located west of the Oldman River and south of the University of Lethbridge, these lands offer a rare, once-in-a-generation chance to shape a new kind of neighbourhood. A neighbourhood that reflects community needs, local values and long-term potential. Whether one is excited about what development can bring or cautious about how it may unfold, the South Campus initiative asks an important question: How can we build a place that strengthens both the university and the broader Lethbridge community? In this session, we’ll walk through the extensive public engagement that informed the concept, the guiding principles behind the design and the governance model created to ensure that any development delivers value, accountability and lasting benefit.
