The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs (SACPA) presents a session discussing online misinformation and how one group is trying to dispel the spread of misinformation in the digital realm.
ScienceUpFirst: What is Misinformation in the Digital Age?
Sometimes it’s difficult to tell if what we’re seeing online is true. With so much information coming from countless different sources the internet can be an overwhelming landscape. There are many tactics misinformers can use to catch us off guard and no one is excluded from getting caught up in it from time to time.
ScienceUpFirst is an initiative from the Canadian Association of Science Centres. Its mission is to share good science, giving people the tools they need to spot misinformation for themselves. The speaker will discuss this topic and answer any questions you might have about ScienceUpFirst, misinformation and being a good digital citizen.
