What is Our Responsibility to Others?
The seventh annual Student Speaker Challenge kicked off on Wednesday, Jan 27, 2016 with a total of nine students competing in this year’s event, addressing the question of “What is Our Responsibility to Others?“ in the context of individual, corporate and governmental responsibilities.
SACPA, LPIRG and the U of L Student Union are collaborating to supply financial and promotional support for the Student Speaker Challenge in addition to the encouragement University of Lethbridge provides.
A panel of judges will determine who wins the competition, with a prize of $1000 going to the overall winner. Second place will receive $500 and $250 prizes will be awarded to the two students not advancing past round 2. U of L Gift Cards will be given to all competitors.
The Student Speaker Challenge Schedule is: (all sessions in the Markin Hall Atrium)
Round 1 – Wednesday, Jan 27 from 7 – 9 pm
The nine participants will each speak for approx. 10 minutes, top four go to round 2
Round 2 – Wednesday, Feb 3 from 7 – 9 pm
The four participants will each speak for approx. 15 minutes, top two go on to the final.
Final – Wednesday, Feb 10 from 7 – 8:30 pm
The two finalists will each speak for approx. 20 minutes before the winner is declared.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided
Free event, free parking, everyone welcome.
