Join the School of Graduate Studies & Office of Postdoctoral Research for the final summer talk in our ongoing lecture series. We are excited to welcome Dr. Andreas Ericksson, a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Steve Wiseman’s research group, who conducts research in environmental toxicology.
All coffee breaks will begin with a 30-minute talk by a ULethbridge postdoc, followed by 15-minute Q&A session, and a 45-minute coffee break. Learn about the exciting research being done by our amazing postdoc community and forge new research connections within & beyond your department. No RSVP needed & all are welcome. While these events are targeted towards postdocs & graduate students, all members of the ULeth community are invited and encouraged to attend.
Title:
A Postdoc’s Life: Lessons From 11 Years of Research
Abstract:
My road to become a postdoc here at the University of Lethbridge is long and winding, and nothing I intended to do. Rather, looking back, I ended up here at the University of Lethbridge due to several related and unrelated events, alongside conscious and unknown decisions. Some of these events and decisions stemmed back to before high school, some to bachelor and master studies, my PhD, while other relates to extracurricular activities and mentors – the sum of which resulted in being head-hunted by my current Professor. That is why I am here today.
So, what can you, as a grad-student, expect from us postdocs and what have I learned from working as a postdoc for almost two years? Well, that depends on a lot of factors, and that is what I will be talking about today.
