December 9 | 7:30 pm | University Recital Hall (W570)

The University of Lethbridge Opera Workshop dedicates their program to musical theatre great, Stephen Sondheim! This not-to-be-missed performance happens one night only, December 9, at 7:30pm in the University Recital Hall.

Performing musical favourites and some lesser-known pieces, the Opera Workshop embraces the challenges of staging works by Sondheim. "The focus of our work has been on text and we're working on staging for some bigger numbers, and giving members of the cast opportunities to stage their own solos," says Opera Workshop director, and Department of Music Faculty member, Dr. Sandra Stringer.

Audiences will be captivated by performances from Sondheim's staged musicals, including Company, Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, and Follies. "We're also staging a very challenging piece from A Weekend in the Country," says Stringer. "I'm thrilled to be presenting a program of works by Sondheim - personal favourites of mine!"

Tickets are going quickly for this performance! Tickets are $20 adult, $15 seniors and alumni, $12 students, available at ulethbridge.ca/tickets or at the new Box Office located on Level 6 in the Centre for the Arts, Monday - Friday, 12:30pm - 3:30pm.
