University of Montana Duo in Residence, Cooper Duo, is joined with Christopher Hahn, Piano, to present a recital of works for Flute and Horn.

Dr. Jennifer Cooper has performed throughout Europe and the United States.  She is founding member and flutist of Awea Duo, has performed with multiple Canadian and American Orchestras, and is a prizewinner of several flute competitions.  She served as Professor of Flute at Morehead State University, KY, Lutheran Summer Music, IA, and at the Kentucky Institute for International Studies in Salzburg, Austria.  She currently serves as Professor of Flute and Music Theory at the University of Montana. Cooper is a Powell Flutes Performing Artist.

Dr. Zachary Cooper is Assistant Professor of Horn and is chair of the music theory and brass and percussion departments at the University of Montana.  He is principal horn of the Missoula Symphony Orchestra and has performed with more than a dozen orchestras nationally and internationally.  Cooper is a strong proponent of educational outreach and his students have achieved professional positions as performers and educators.

Dr. Christopher Hahn, professor of piano at the University of Montana, is regularly featured as a performer, teacher, and adjudicator, and serves as a clinician for the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Frederick Harris Music Company. 


Cooper Duo
was formed in 2015 to promote the flute and horn chamber medium.  They have performed across the U.S. and internationally, premiering newly commissioned works including appearances at the Northwest Horn Symposium and the National Flute Association Convention.  Commissioned works have received support from various sources including the International Horn Society. They look forward to a European tour together in June 2020.
