There is something for everyone in Adam Mason's Music at Noon performance, featuring exotic and traditional percussion from Japan, Trinidad, the U.S. and Tahiti. A few friends will be joining him to spice things up on authentic instruments.
Adam Mason serves as Director of Percussion at the University of Lethbridge. He is founder of the U of L Global Drums Percussion Ensemble, which tours around the world and includes the U of L Steel Bands, Polynesian Ensemble, Taiko Ensemble, Samba Bateria, African Music and Dance Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble. Professor Mason is an active performer and clinician including recent engagements in Rio de Janeiro, London, Trinidad, Hawaii, Japan and Percussive Arts Society International Conventions. He is a former instructor for Ten-time World Champion, The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps as well as Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps.
Adam Mason received his Bachelor and Masters degrees at West Virginia University where he studied with Phil Faini and David Satterfield. He also studied with Dr. John Raush at Louisiana State University while serving as Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. While there Adam founded the USL Big Bang Steel Band, African Ensemble and Taiko Ensemble.
Adam Mason is a Yamaha Canada Artist and an Educator/Endorser for Vic Firth Sticks, Inc. and Zildjian Cymbals.
