Student-centred Methodology in Preparing for Language Teaching 4.0: achievements and challenges
Wednesday, October 2
2 – 3 p.m. | TH201
The fourth industrial revolution is substantially changing the role of education and, therefore, the role of instructors and learners at all levels. Education 4.0 is an imminent response to the needs of a globalized world where humans and technology are being aligned to enable endless possibilities, among them the need for students, as digital natives, to communicate effectively in at least one language besides their mother tongue.
This talk will explore the repercussions of the phenomenon we are now experiencing. What is Education 4.0? Do we really understand it, or do we just follow others? We will discuss specific trends of Education 4.0, characteristics of the centennial learners and skills for the 21st century language educators. Finally, sharing the “pedagogical stance” adopted by the presenter, achievements and challenges in the language classroom will be discussed.
