The Ideas Store is a festival of ideas and culture, May 15th to 30th, at the Penny Building in downtown Lethbridge, organized by the Department of Philosophy and the Critical Thinking + Civic Engagement Lab. It brings together students and faculty from across ULethbrdge, as well as community members from organizations like the Nikkei Cultural Society, the LSCO, Sage Clan, Antojitos, the Lethbridge Folk Club and Lethbridge News Now, for dozens of talks, performances, workshops, screenings, an art exhibit, a storytelling recording booth and more.
The goal is to get people thinking together about the problems that matter to Lethbridgians, invigorate the use of the Penny Building, strengthen old relationships, forge new ones and promote the sense that shared inquiry is a source of connection. (It's also fun.)
All events are 100% free and open to the public. You can find the full program at the CTCE Lab website here: https://sites.ulethbridge.ca/ctce-lab/the-ideas-store-2026/
