CURE and Celebrating Research Excellence Reception

We are happy to announce that the planning for CURE and Celebrating Research Excellence 2016 is being finalized.

There are two ways for you to participate:

1. Register or RSVP as an attendee.

2. Present a poster on your work or submit your achievements to be celebrated at the reception.  To do so, email Hector MacIntyre.

AGENDA for March 9, 2016

11:00-12:00 Registration.  Registration will occur in the Markin Hall Atrium.  Follow signs for parking and proceed south to Markin Hall. An event package will be distributed with details for locations of lunch and other activiteis.  Free parking will be available in Lot N between 11:00 am and 5:00pm.  Click here for a campus map.

12:00 p.m. Keynote Lunch.  Lunch will be hosted in the Student Union Ballrooms. Dr. Erasmus Okine, Vice-President (Research), will speak on industry partnerships and Dr. Claudia Malacrida, Associate Vice-President (Research), will speak on community-based research.  Please send any dietary restrictions to Penny D'Agnone.

PLEASE NOTE - We can no longer accept RSVPs for the lunch portion of the program.  However, you can join the Speed Talks at 1:00pm in the SU Ballroom.

1:00-3:00 p.m. Speed Talks.  Speed talks are 10 minutes in length with a short period for questions.  Some of the topics to be discussed include:

  • Jenna Bailey - Coyote Flats History Project;
  • Darren Christensen - Internet-Delivery Counselling;
  • Kristine Alexander - Digital Storytelling, Resilience, and Reconciliation;
  • Jon Doan - Research and Patient Engagement;
  • Breeanne Fuller - Conservatory of Music.

3:00-5:00 p.m.  CURE Poster Session and Celebrating Research Excllence Reception. This event will occur in Markin Hall Atrium. This open and free event will display posters related to research projects and celebrate recent achievements of university members.  Refreshments and appetizers will be served.

Winners of the ORIS Research Photo contest will be announced at 3:00pm.

You can participate in two ways:

1. Click here to RSVP to CURE!  In addition, if you would like to present a poster or a speed talk on your research involving an external partner, please contact Penny D'Agnone or Hector MacIntyre before March 1, 2016.

2. New for 2016, we are incorporating the Celebrating Research Excellence reception as part of the eventThere is a call for scholarly and creative activities to be celebrated during the reception.  Activities can include but are not limited to publications, grants received, books and chapters, exhibitions, etc.  Faculty members are encouraged to send their achievements of all kinds between March 2015 and 2016 to Hector MacIntyre in the Office of Research & Innovation Services before March 1, 2016.
