The University of Lethbridge's Rotaract Club presents Ballroom Bingo Saturday, February 29th at 7:00 pm! This 1950s themed night of bingo will raise funds for the Volcanes Kids Education Project (VKEP) located just outside of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They are a community-based, charitable organization with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty by inspiring and empowering children to stay in school and dream big. Before the VKEP’s inception, many children in Volcanes dropped out of school after primary or middle school.
The primary objective of VKEP has been to provide students in grades 1-12, in the local public school with the necessary academic, emotional and physical support to stay in school. VKEP began with 60 students in 2011. Today, in 2020, close to 400 young people participate in VKEP’s activities that occur before or after their public school classes every day. They have helped 32 of those students go to university.
Our fun-filled event will provide food and drinks, silent auction, 50/50 draw, live band, dancing and many games of bingo! We are pleased to invite you to join us for this fun night of socializing!
